THE LION AND  THE MOUSE

One day, Mr. Lion lay sleeping in his den, a naughty little mouse ran up his tail , and onto his back and up his mane and danced and jumped on his head ....so that the lion woke up.
The lion grabbed the mouse and, holding him in his large claws, roared in anger. “Hemm.....how dare you wake me up! Don't you know that I am King of the Beasts? Anyone who disturbs my rest deserves to die! I shall kill you and eat you!”
The terrified mouse, shaking and trembling, begged the lion to let him go. “Please don't eat me Your Majesty! I did not mean to wake you, it was a mistake. I was only playing. Please let me go - and I promise I will be your friend forever. Who knows but one day I could save your life?”
The lion looked at the tiny mouse and laughed and laughed. “Ha…ha….ha…You save my life? What an absurd idea! Ha…ha…ha….” he said scornfully. “But you have made me laugh, and put me into a good mood again, so I shall let you go. And you are not so much of a meal anyway” And the lion opened his claws and let the mouse go free.
Oh thank you, Your Majesty, squeaked the mouse, and scurried away as fast as he could.
One day, Mr. Lion was walking down slowly in the jungle. He didn’t realize that there were some hunters spied him. They were trying to capture him alive. They set up rope nets in the jungle. What happened then? The lion fell into the trap. He roared and trashed. “Hemmm…..Hmmmmm………”The tiny mouse heard the lion’s roar and he ran to see whether he could help.
“I can’t get out!” he roared angrily.
The mouse said to him,”Stop! stop! You must not roar. If you make so much noise, the hunters will come and capture you. I will get you out of this trap.”With his sharp little teeth the mouse nibbled and gnawed at the ropes until they broke. The lion had stepped out of the net and was free. What a good job!
“There” the little mouse said proudly,”If you had not let me go, I would not have found a way to help you.”
“Thank you, good mouse,”said Mr.Lion gently.”You did help me eventhough I’m big and you are so little. I see now that kindness is always worthwhile.”
Since then on, they tied in friendship forever.
Ok friends, that’s all my story. So please don’t underestimate someone else because sometimes we may need his/her help. Thank you for your attention.
